Co2 Laser Surgery
In keeping with our mission that all pets deserve advanced, compassionate medical care, we favor CO2 laser surgery for its flexibility and precision in soft tissue surgery. The CO2 laser is also better at reducing pain and swelling in comparison to traditional methods.

Reduced pain
CO2 lasers seal nerve endings and lymphatics, which leads to less pain, swelling, and inflammation at the surgical site. -
Minimized bleeding
A CO2 laser seals small vessels as it cuts so there is less post-op bruising and bleeding. This allows for procedures in areas that are highly vascular and where traditional scalpel blades would be a challenge:Resection of stenotic nares (narrowed nostrils) and excessively long soft palates in pugs, Boston terriers, French bulldogs, and English bulldogs.
Removal of oral masses and oral biopsies.

Pet Surgery Procedures
As an AAHA-accredited facility, Hampton Veterinary Hospital follows strict treatment protocols and standards to ensure quality surgical care for your pet:
- All pets undergo a pre-operative surgical assessment, including a health exam, anesthetic blood testing, and surgical procedure review.
- All pets have an IV catheter placed for administration of IV fluids during anesthesia.
- All pet surgeries take place in a dedicated surgical room.
- All instruments and equipment are sterilized before each procedure. All surgical staff wear sterile gowns and single-use gloves.
- All pets that undergo surgery will receive a multi-modal approach to manage any potential pain related to the procedure.
